As a teenager I was naturally very thin and, until my junior year in high school, my height was under five feet. My nickname at school was "Munchkin". As my height and body mass increased I was still thin. There were times my classmates and even adults and family members would say "You're so skinny!". I was so embarrassed I just wanted to go hide somewhere. At the time it was the 1970's long before the obesity epidemic we see today. In my head I wanted to respond with "Would you go up to someone and say 'You're so fat!'" because to me it was the same thing. At times I felt like I needed to "do something" to make myself conform to society's expectations but I never did. I accepted myself as I was then and I do now. All of us take our own journey in this world and I applaud your efforts to improve your health and your appearance. Just make sure it's for you. Best wishes.
